Account Manager - Robotic Welding Systems

Overview:

This position is responsible for developing new business in the Domestic Automotive, and General Industry sector for Panasonic Connect. Collaboration with the relevant domain sales and marketing groups, coordination with Japan-based Product Teams, and global leadership across sales companies will be key to success. Creation of ongoing global revenue opportunities is the primary goal.

Responsibilities:

New Business Development

  • Identify new business opportunities within welding robot market segments.
  • Analyze market trends, market size, competition, and technology within the industry; create and execute a strategic plan to pursue new business, meet business goals, and achieve personal sales quota.

Customer Development

  • Visit potential customers and develop relationships to sell solutions; organize and host visits to Panasonic Connect sites.
  • Develop and maintain key relationships with decision-makers.
  • Create and provide quotes to potential customers, ensuring accuracy and comprehensive solution offerings.
  • Communicate and coordinate with internal teams to ensure on-time delivery, installation, service, and satisfaction follow-up for sold solutions.

Account Management

  • Follow up and maintain contacts with established and prospective customers through regular technology and business updates.
  • Visit established customers on a regular basis to present and update them on Panasonic solutions.
  • Provide feedback to the factory regarding the development or improvement of new products.

Information Exchange and Collaboration

  • Lead scheduled calls and meetings with follow-ups; interact with Japan-based colleagues, local staff, and customers.
  • Present progress of sales activity, development of new and existing customers, market trends, competitor activity, and customer updates.
  • Respond in a timely manner to internal and external communications within company guidelines.
  • Forecast and present monthly sales and leads following KornFerry Selling practices.
  • Attend trade shows, workshops, and seminars to maintain expertise.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with distributors, suppliers, and system integrators.

 

Qualifications:

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of welding or robot product sales experience.
  • Technical knowledge of welding robot systems required.
  • Experience in the sales process and consultative selling required.
  • In-depth knowledge of welding and related markets.
  • In-depth knowledge of automotive manufacturing processes.
  • OEM business and design engineering connections preferred.
  • Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, with strong proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Copilot.

  • Competent knowledge of thermal joining processes, including arc, spot, and laser welding.
  • Competent knowledge of automation, primarily industrial robots and their applications.
  • Superior oral and written communication skills, including negotiation and presentation capabilities.

Other Requirements

  • Travel: up to 80%, with a minimum of 40% domestic U.S. travel; some travel to Mexico and Canada may be required.
  • May be required to wear protective gear when visiting customer work sites.
  • Other duties as assigned.
