SSM Health in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin is actively recruiting for a Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner.

Requirements: Certified Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner with CRNFA certification: If Nurse Practitioner is not CRNFA certified, the employer will provide support and training with the expectation of CRNFA certification within 5 years from training completion Experience in Cardiothoracic Surgery is desired, but those applicants with strong surgical experience or training in Vascular Surgery, Neurosurgery, Trauma Surgery and General Surgery encouraged to apply Strong interpersonal and communication skills, fostering positive patient-provider relationships Commitment to staying current with advancements in healthcare and continuously improving clinical skills Keen on learning and growing professionally Position Highlights: Responsibilities include examining patients, formulating diagnoses, developing treatment plans for patients, performing technical, clinical, and surgical procedures, and documenting patient progress and surgical care Perform endoscopic saphenous vein harvests and radial artery harvests, place and remove chest tubes and catheters, intubate and extubate patients, and place and remove central lines and arterial lines.

Robotic lung experience is a plus, but not required Anticipated schedule of Monday-Friday from 8am to 5pm, including patient rounding every other weekend Low burden call is with little to no night cases, predictable weekend volume, and shared equally with our current Nurse Practitioner The APP may also write prescriptions and medical orders Strong onboarding program At our Fond du Lac, WI facility, physicians are employed by the Fond du Lac Regional Clinic, an independent yet closely affiliated group, while advanced practice providers (APPs) are directly employed by SSM Health, fostering a collaborative and patient-centered care environment.
