Advisor, Data Management & Governance Technical Writer

The Advisor, Data Management & Governance Technical Writer will be responsible for advancing and maturing Data Management capabilities across the enterprise with a focus on improving metadata quality in Collibra and overall data literacy.

This individual will be the final reviewer on assets within our metadata management tool (Collibra). Strong background in technical writing is necessary. This will require proofreading, editing, and communication with the original author. They will be responsible for making sure the descriptions are understandable to an audience with no previous background in the data. They will align metadata for consistency.

While this job is about metadata, no previous technical experience with Collibra is required. The most important qualities we're looking for are verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Applies comprehensive knowledge and a thorough understanding of concepts, principles, and technical capabilities to perform varied tasks and projects.

  • Proofreading/editing of metadata related content in Collibra. (No technical expertise in Collibra is required.)

  • Create writing style-guide for Collibra.

  • Create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

  • Perform audits of existing content in Collibra based on style-guide.

  • Ensure processes are being followed and documentation is being maintained.

  • Maintain metadata records in Collibra in support of Enterprise Data Management initiatives.

  • Support data stewards on the use of Collibra.

  • Support the creation of learning materials.

  • Focus on metadata quality and drive improvement.

  • Coach, mentor, advise on best practices related to metadata management.

  • Partner with other teams to improve processes.

Qualifications

  • 4-8 years of experience, preferred

  • BA, BS or equivalent experience in related field preferred. Advance Degree preferred.

  • Technical writing skills.

  • Excellent presentation skills.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Strong understanding of metadata.

  • Data focused mindset.

  • Collibra experience preferred (very much a nice experience to have. This can be learned on the job.)

  • Metadata management experience.

  • Data Management experience preferred.

  • Understanding of workflow development.

Anticipated salary range: $80,900 - $103,950
