Together we design, develop, construct, and manage independent living, assisted living, and memory care communities for seniors throughout the Midwest. Brahms is committed to building safe, high-quality, efficient environments that enhance the lives of our residents.<br><br><strong>Position Summary<br><br></strong>The Assistant Superintendent, reporting directly to the Project Superintendent will provide onsite coordination and support as directed by the Project Superintendent, or any other members of the Project Team. The Assistant Project Superintendent is responsible for helping deliver a successful project to Cedarhurst Senior Living on time and on budget with the desired level of quality.<br><br><strong>Essential Duties<br><br></strong><em>The following duties are normal for this position. This list is not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.<br><br></em><ul><li>Assist with enforcement and regulation of site safety. Ensure the overall jobsite is safe for workers and visitors as well as manage compliance with established company safety policies, including administering jobsite safety orientation, incident reporting and equipment inspections.</li><li>Review construction documents with Project Team to gain an understanding of the process for completing each task.</li><li>Work with the Project Teams and provide support for reinforcing schedule and production for onsite personnel as directed.</li><li>Help implement logistics plan for temporary facilities and material storage for the project.</li><li>Review and understand specifications and manufacturer's data and facilitate execution of said documentation.</li><li>Review, understand and help enforce the four-week look ahead schedules, including distribution to onsite personnel on a weekly basis.</li><li>Assist with daily field reports with manpower totals, material and equipment deliveries, inspection information and safety concerns.</li><li>Review, understand and help distribute RFI's (Requests for Information) as required to ensure completeness of the project documents to onsite personnel.</li><li>Review and understand submittals with Project Team and enforce compliance with project manual and plans, manufacturer's recommendations and code, or other standards applicable to the system, with onsite personnel.</li><li>Receive and understand direction and oversight from the Project Team to ensure compliance with the company’s quality control program for the project.</li><li>Attend preconstruction orientations with subcontractor partners in conjunction with the Project Team.</li><li>Attend weekly on-site project meetings with Project Team, subcontractors and construction trade lead personnel.</li><li>Assist with managing subcontractors for all work performed on-site.</li><li>Assist with performing SWPPP inspections and reporting.</li><li>Assist with management and supervision of work crews on-site, to include the following:</li><li>Assist with management of foreman with their duties and ensure they have the resources and information to perform their tasks effectively and efficiently.</li><li>Report all project related conversations had onsite directly to the Project Superintendent or Project Team in a timely manner.</li><li>Perform as a conduit for information between the Project Team and onsite personnel.</li><li>Assist with management of the overall safety of the project and ensure all personnel have the resources to perform their work safely.</li><li>Assist with material handling and storage logistics, including operation of company machinery.</li><li>Obtain safety certifications as required by company policy to include OSHA 30 for Construction and machinery certifications.</li><li>Assist with daily/weekly cleanup.</li><li>Other duties as assigned.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Qualifications, Education And/or Experience<br><br></strong><em>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required.<br><br></em><ul><li>High school diploma or GED is required.</li><li>Two (2) or more years of experience in the construction industry or a related field preferred.</li><li>Basic understanding of safety regulations and enforcement procedures on active job sites required.</li><li>Strong communication skills with the ability to coordinate between project team, subcontractors and field personnel, required.</li><li>Effective organizational and time management skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, required.</li><li>Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment, required.</li><li>Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore and Microsoft Office Suite) preferred.</li><li>OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification required, or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Working Conditions<br><br></strong><em>As part of The Dover Company’s commitment to providing outstanding care and support, the company ensures that staff work under conditions that prioritize safety, collaboration, and professional growth.
