We're scaling the business, launching new products, defining categories, and rebuilding the marketing organization to operate AI-native. The CMO needs an operating partner who can run the system while he runs the strategy. That's you.

This is a senior leadership role and a 100x role. You are a close strategic partner to the CMO, operating at his level and on his behalf. You think like the CMO, act like the CMO, and represent him in rooms he can't be in. You set the operating rhythm for marketing, connect strategy to execution, and serve as the consolidation point for the marketing leadership team.

You do all of this as an orchestrator of AI systems. Memos, dashboards, decks, comms, research, analysis. The output that used to take a team now takes you, an agent stack, and a few hours of judgment. The CMO is more effective because you're in the seat. The business moves faster because you're in the seat. Nothing gets dropped. Every initiative has an owner. Every meeting moves the company forward.

What You'll Own

Marketing strategy and OKRs in partnership with the CMO, aligned to corporate priorities. You own the planning rhythm: weekly leadership, monthly business reviews, and the quarterly business review process for marketing

The executive performance system: CMO dashboards, ROI by program, KPIs by function, and the metrics the executive team actually uses to make decisions

The AI operating system inside the office of the CMO. Agents, skills, and workflows that produce strategic deliverables (memos, board materials, comms, dashboards, decks, analysis) at a fraction of the time and cost they used to require

Martech strategy and utilization in partnership with our Architecture team. You will know our stack, how it's used, and where we extract more leverage from it

Budget ownership for the marketing org in partnership with Finance: quarterly forecasts, variance analysis, and the case for every meaningful dollar

Cross-functional alignment with Sales, Product, Finance, CX, and IT, including the joint initiatives that drive revenue and new growth motions

Talent strategy in partnership with HR: hiring loops, onboarding, performance calibration, and development plans for the senior marketing team

High-leverage special projects, whatever the highest-impact thing is this quarter

What We're Looking For

5 to 10 years in roles where you made senior leaders dramatically better. Strategy consulting, banking, ex-founder, or seasoned operator backgrounds all welcome

AI-native at the operating-system level. You build agents, you write skills, you live in Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and the rest of the stack daily, and you have strong opinions about which tools to use when

100x ambition. You don't measure your value by hours worked or pages written. You measure it by what gets done because you exist

Strong taste. You can review AI output and immediately spot what's missing, what's wrong, and what to push further. Judgment is your edge

Data-fluent and dashboard-fluent. You can pull, transform, and visualize data with or without help

Comfortable with ambiguity. You don't need a runbook to operate

Will tell the CMO when he's wrong, and bring a better answer

The Bar

You want to be the best Chief of Staff in tech. Not at one company. In the role. You're obsessed with leverage, excellence, and the quality of every deliverable that leaves your hands. You are not trying to do more work. You are trying to do work that wasn't possible before. You see this seat as a launchpad to a GM, VP, or operating role inside Nextiva or beyond. You play to win.
