This position will have responsibility for evaluation and assessment of Meijer’s overall compliance to assigned regulations and may have communication with associated government agencies. This position also includes working within a cross functional team to approve products and labels, including but not limited to Meijer Own Brand products. What You'll be Doing: Monitor potential changes to assigned laws/regulations affecting the consumer products industry; alert the company of same and prepare responses to proposed changes as appropriate. Provide regulatory input on projects, providing regulatory compliance and scientific guidance to internal stakeholders. Support government tracking and reporting programs, including investigating or supporting an investigation related to consumer concerns or potential exposure related to current events. Review and approve assigned Meijer Own Brand product labels, including associated claims to ensure accuracy and alignment with Meijer Own Brand strategies; ensure all labeling information is compliant and properly presented. This will be completed through evaluation of regulations, test reports and vendor documents. Review and approve label graphics for accuracy and specific requirements to ensure compliance with government regulations. Effectively communicate regulatory concepts and practical application across technical and non-technical audiences internally and externally. Ensure products within assigned product categories are compliant with federal, state and local laws. Work with Quality and Compliance leadership to ensure regulatory requirements are properly represented in Meijer’s quality management system, including development and routine reporting of metrics. Work with Reverse Logistics to ensure all assigned compliance matters are handled appropriately. Work with Quality to ensure regulatory requirements are properly represented when selecting labs as well as incorporated into testing protocols. What You Bring with You (Qualifications): Bachelor's degree required, with preference for a background in a technical field. Three to five years of related experience in a supplier quality, new product development or manufacturing environment, preferably within a regulated consumer goods company. Demonstrated program leadership, creation of processes and procedures, and collaboration with vendors, contract manufacturers and testing laboratories. Strong working knowledge of applicable regulations. Broad understanding of manufacturing technologies and processes. Ability to generate accurate work product quickly as requested by client business areas. Positive, high energy individual, who thrives on building new processes and influencing others. Ability to evaluate product offerings and adherence to regulatory requirements. Ability to work across all divisions and levels of the organization. Expertise in product testing and test report evaluation. Proven ability to independently problem solve, analyze, and assess. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with testing and inspection organizations. Strong project management, organizational and presentation skills. Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
