Director, Standards – Governance

Job Description:

  • Develop and maintain data center operational standards, specifications, and SOPs aligned with industry best practices.
  • Establish and enforce compliance and audit frameworks to ensure all facilities meet regulatory requirements and internal governance standards
  • Lead the cultural and operational transition from mining operations to critical infrastructure operations, integrating legacy teams into data center standards
  • Design and implement a comprehensive change management process that governs all operational changes across facilities
  • Build and maintain the DC Operations Standards Library as the single source of truth for all operational documentation
  • Create governance dashboards and reporting mechanisms that provide leadership visibility into compliance, audit findings, and standards adherence
  • Partner with Technical Training, RCA & Continuous Improvement, and Operational Readiness teams to ensure standards are embedded across all functions
  • Drive alignment with customer requirements and SLA commitments through standardized operational processes
  • Conduct regular assessments and gap analyses to identify areas for improvement and ensure continuous evolution of standards
  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing standards and governance team

Requirements:

  • 12+ years of experience in data center operations, critical infrastructure, or mission-critical facility management, with at least 3+ years in a leadership role
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing operational standards, SOPs, and governance frameworks.
  • Experience leading organizational change management, particularly transitioning teams from non-traditional operations to structured data center disciplines
  • Strong background in compliance, and regulatory frameworks relevant to data center operations
  • Experience with CMMS/DCIM platforms and documentation management systems
