About the position

This position is responsible for providing project and program management to residential and commercial customers for the Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Program. The Energy Efficiency Consultant, EV Implementation supports the development, promotion and implementation of EV initiatives to meet established goals under the direction of the Supervisor and/or Manager of Electric Vehicle Implementation. This position is also responsible for all reporting required by state regulators and oversight of project installers and partner organizations involved in this program. To support program participants, this position will engage with customers, installers, and communities, as well as manage program payments, approve program applications, and assist in the process of continuously improving program operations. This is a hybrid role.

Responsibilities

  • Directly processes customer applications and customer payments, or coordinates with third-party vendors to deliver rebates for the residential, fleet, multifamily, and Direct Current Fast Charger (DCFC) EV Charging Program within Service Level Agreements.
  • Program delivery includes adopting all Eversource established procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensures compliance with and recommends appropriate updates to leadership to implement cost-effective program, policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Works with internal and external stakeholders to refine optimal electric vehicle charging strategies to meet key program objectives.
  • Works with industry stakeholders and local communities across Eversource territory to raise awareness of EV Charging Program.
  • Stay up to date on the managed charging capabilities of electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE), vehicle onboard telematics, and aftermarket onboard diagnostic port or dongle equipment.
  • Work with EVSE and vehicle original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to integrate their equipment into the Program and Distributed Energy Resource Management System (DERMS).
  • Coordinates with management to assist with Program financial and operational performance reporting, including key performance indicators, budgeting, forecasting, and regulatory reporting, as needed.
  • Works cross functionally with Eversource colleagues to develop and implement enhanced procedures for continuous process improvements for the EV Programs.
  • Collaborates on RFPs for selection of outside vendors to help administer EV program, as applicable.
  • Interacts with customers and resolves concerns and complaints as necessary.
  • Assists in the development of customer education materials with a particular emphasis on consumer protection and low-income participation.
  • Fosters and supports the development of a company culture that promotes high customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Requires working knowledge of clean energy policy and program management.
  • Also requires knowledge of budgeting and financial reporting best practices.
  • Ability to use PC desktop applications with proficiency (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Requires strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of electric vehicle charging and utility DR and peak demand reduction programs and load profiling.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, Public Policy, Financial, related disciplines, or equivalent experience.
  • Three (3) plus years of relevant experience in technical sales, project management, engineering, managing complex, high-volume customer-facing programs.
