Environmental Technician

The Environmental Technician will report directly to the Environmental Supervisor or designated Supervisor and is responsible for completing inspections, and remediation work and will assist with directing vendors assigned to the job. The Environmental Technician will ensure that all policies and procedures related to environmental work orders are always followed. The Environmental Technician will oversee the timely completion e of work orders related to water damage, fire and smoke damage, mold, lead paint, asbestos or any other environmental hazard work being performed by Maintenance Technicians or by subcontracted services. The Environmental Technician will follow up on resident issues stemming from work being performed. Immediate reporting of accidents or emergency situations to the Environmental Supervisor will be required. The Environmental Technician will perform all other duties as assigned by the Environmental Supervisor.
Responsibilities:
1. Preferred certification in Mold Inspection, Mold Remediation and RRP (Lead Renovation, Repair and Painting.
2. Good knowledge of residential construction.
3. Must be knowledgeable of pertinent laws and applicable regulations.
4. Completes routine inspection to ensure safe conditions exist.
5. Complete accurate records regarding all Environmental work orders and/or subcontracted services.
6. Report any maintenance or resident related concerns to manager and/or supervisor in a timely manner.
7. Attend and participate in training seminars as requested. Be aware and always operate within OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Act) standards and company safety policies and procedures.
8. Ensure effective, timely and professional interactions with residents, contractors and team members.
9. Perform technician level repairs as needed (remove/replace water heaters, remove/replace HVAC systems, minor sheetrock repairs, etc.)
10. Calibrates and maintains related equipment in accordance with industry standards.
11. Perform PM inspections as assigned.
12. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Preferred Experience:
1. A minimum of 3 years’ experience in the water mitigation remediation/restoration industry.
2. A minimum of 2 years’ experience in RRP Lead Safe work practices.
3. A minimum of 1 years’ experience in residential construction work.
4. Must be able to pass background investigation and drug test screening.

Required Education/Training:

1. High School Diploma or GED
2. Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record.
3. All specific certifications required by law.
4. Must successfully complete all required courses, classes, and training provided by MMS

3. Prioritize and manage daily workload to ensure successful completion.

6. Computer Skills to include: Microsoft Office Suite, Computerized Reporting System, and provide daily email communication with others.
7. Must possess excellent interpersonal skills to include verbal and written, while working with both residents and staff.
8. Demonstrate a professional attitude in every aspect of his/her work, a positive and enthusiastic attitude.

Working Conditions:

1. Must be able to work 40 hours per week to include evenings, weekends, and holidays if required for emergency, on-call, or scheduled shifts. Overtime hours may be required.
2. Must be able and eligible to drive a company vehicle for completing resident service requests, picking up replacement parts and supplies from warehouses and vendors, and inspecting grounds.
