Freelance Fashion Designer / Apparel Developer Needed for Premium “Mommy + Me” Clothing Brand Launch - Contract to Hire

Hi!

My name is Brittany and I am the founder of a new premium lifestyle clothing brand currently in the very early stages of development. I am seeking an experienced freelance fashion designer/apparel developer to partner with me through the early stages of launching my clothing brand.

About the Brand

The brand focuses on elevated, high-quality, matching apparel for mothers and children, with an emphasis on boys’ and gender-neutral styles. The aesthetic is minimalist, timeless, comfortable, and elevated—think modern luxury basics rather than fast fashion.

Our initial collection will focus on:

* Women’s sweatshirts, sweatpants, and t-shirts

* Children’s/toddler sweatshirts, sweatpants, and t-shirts

* Potential expansion into outerwear and accessories

What I Am Looking For

I am seeking someone who can serve not only as a designer but also as a trusted guide throughout the product development process.

Ideally, you have experience with:

* Children’s apparel

* Women’s athleisure/casual apparel

* Premium fabrics and construction

* Launching startup fashion brands

* Working with overseas manufacturers (Portugal, Turkey, Vietnam, China, etc.)

* Apparel sourcing and production management

Project Scope

I am looking for assistance with:

* Technical sketches/flats

* Fabric recommendations and sourcing guidance

* Tech pack creation

* Fit and construction recommendations

* Trim and labeling recommendations

* Sample development oversight

* Connections to reputable manufacturers and factories

* Guidance through the production process

Brand Aesthetic

Some brands that inspire me include:

* Aritzia

* Sporty & Rich

* Zara

* H&M premium basics

* Elevated family lifestyle brands

The aesthetic is:

* Minimalist

* Sporty / Athleisure

* Timeless

* Premium quality

* Neutral color palettes

* Soft, comfortable fabrics

* Luxury casualwear

About Me

I spent over 20 years working in fashion before becoming a stay-at-home mother. I am passionate about creating a thoughtful, high-quality brand that celebrates motherhood and family while maintaining a modern, elevated aesthetic.

I am looking for someone who values quality over quantity and is interested in building a long-term professional relationship rather than completing a one-time project.

When Applying, Please Include:

* Portfolio or website

* Relevant experience with children’s and/or athleisure apparel

* Experience launching startup brands

* Information about any factory or sourcing relationships

* Your typical pricing structure

* Your location and availability

I look forward to hearing from you and learning more about your experience!
