Summary<br>Grade: 3A<br>Reporting Line: Head of Technology Service Operations<br>Contract Type: Permanent<br>Location: Wood Street<br>What to expect<br>The Hardware Asset Manager is responsible for overseeing the lifecycle of all physical IT assets within the Post Office. This includes supporting procurement, deployment, maintenance, tracking, and disposal of hardware such as laptops, desktops, servers, mobile devices, and branch equipment. As an equal opportunity employer, we value and celebrate the differences among our people, ensuring that our practices reflect our dedication to inclusivity and equal representation for all.<br>What you’ll need to succeed<br>Proven experience in IT asset management or hardware lifecycle management.<br>Strong understanding of IT hardware components and configurations.<br>Proficiency in asset tracking tools and inventory management systems.<br>Experience with Configuration Management Databases (CMDB) and maintaining accurate asset records as configuration items.<br>Ability to manage vendor relationships and support negotiating contracts.<br>Familiarity with cybersecurity and data protection standards related to hardware.<br>Proficient in using asset management systems to track, update, and report on hardware inventory.<br>Ability to manage multiple assets across locations and teams.<br>Skilled in conducting audits and reconciling inventory discrepancies with precision.<br>Experienced in managing vendor relationships and coordinating procurement, warranties, refresh cycles and repairs.<br>Knowledgeable in IT hardware including desktops, laptops, servers, and mobile devices.<br>About us<br>Post Office is a community staple.
