  • Training: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST (4–6 weeks)
  • Post-Training: Flexible hours

Overview

We are partnering with Ensemble Health Partners to bring on a team of experienced Inpatient Coding Auditors to support a large-scale audit initiative. This is a fully remote opportunity focused on DRG validation, coding accuracy, and documentation integrity across acute inpatient services.

This role is ideal for experienced auditors who thrive in high-volume environments and have a strong understanding of MS-DRG, APR-DRG, and inpatient reimbursement methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform inpatient coding audits and DRG validation reviews
  • Ensure documentation supports coded diagnoses, procedures, and DRG assignment
  • Identify overpayments, underpayments, and compliance risks
  • Analyze medical records using ICD-10-CM/PCS guidelines and AHA Coding Clinic standards
  • Write clear, concise audit findings and recommendations
  • Collaborate with CDI teams to identify query opportunities
  • Maintain productivity expectations of 16–20 audits per day
  • Provide education and feedback to coding teams

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of inpatient coding experience
  • 3+ years of inpatient auditing (DRG validation)
  • Strong knowledge of:
  • MS-DRG / APR-DRG / Tricare reimbursement
  • Active certification (one required):
  • CPC, CCS, RHIT, RHIA, or CDIP
  • Experience with EMRs and encoder tools (3M preferred)
  • Strong understanding of ICD-10-CM/PCS guidelines
  • Ability to work independently and meet productivity/quality metrics

Preferred Qualifications

  • CDI experience or query writing
  • Experience in:
  • Academic Medical Centers
  • Trauma or complex care settings
  • Exposure to multiple specialties

Tools & Technology

  • 3M Encoder (preferred)
  • EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, etc.)
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ensemble internal platform (EIQ)

Compensation

  • Pay Rate: $38–$48/hr
  • Conversion Salary Range: $62,500 – $119,700
  • Equipment will all be provided
