General Description


This is a full-time, hourly position that reports to the Librarian Reference Administrator or designee. The position performs support work assisting the Administrator and other team members in support of the activities of the Department. The position also performs some functions in support of system-wide activities

Essential Job Functions


  1. Works with other Circulation Department team members to provide direct service to library users in person, over the phone and by electronic means.
  2. Collects from all reporting functions and submits monthly report information to the Library Director in an accurate and timely manner.
  3. Follows established policies and procedures for securing interlibrary loan materials for users throughout the Library System.
  4. Follows established policies and procedures to maintain and schedule the Headquarters meeting room.
  5. .Maintains and reports accountability data such as Vehicle Use Sheets, Cleaning Sheets and Key sign-out sheets.
  6. Supports the Director by preparing and distributing meeting announcements and other commuications to the Library Board.
  7. Using the data collected through the monthly reports and other sources prepares and submits the Annual Statistical Report to the State Library of Florida.
  8. Provides assistance within all areas of the Department as needed as well as in other divisions of the library system as requested or assigned.
  9. May be required to assist with emergency support functions (ESF) in the EOC during emergencies or other related emergency duties.

Minimum Qualifications


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  1. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  2. Knowledge of office practices and procedures.
  3. Ability to organize projects, people, data, and files.
  4. Ability to work with complex tasks simultaneously.
  5. Ability to work under competing deadlines successfully.
  6. Ability to work with a diverse workforce.
  7. Strong knowledge of office equipment and software.
  8. Ability to work under minimum supervision.
  9. Ability to type a minimum of 35 wpm.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  1. High school graduate or equivalency.
  2. Prefer Associate's degree.
  3. Minimum of two (2) years of work experience as a support Assistant.
(A comparable amount of training, education, or experience may be substituted for the above minimum qualifications.)


LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, OR REGISTRATIONS
  1. Ability to possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver's License.
