Overview & Position Summary

This position guides borrowers through the lending process by evaluating loan needs, reviewing financial information, and recommending appropriate loan solutions. This role works independently under limited supervision and applies broad lending knowledge to assess complex scenarios, interpret guidelines, and resolve issues that arise during the application lifecycle. This position collaborates with cross-functional partners to ensure accuracy, consistency, and regulatory alignment. This role also provides support, coaching, and guidance to team members as needed to enhance overall lending performance.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Evaluate borrower financial information to determine eligibility and appropriate loan products in alignment with organizational guidelines.
  • Guide borrowers through the loan application process, providing clear communication, education, and support.
  • Analyze complex financial data, credit reports, income documentation, and assets to identify risks or approval conditions.
  • Recommend solutions for borrowers with varied or challenging circumstances by applying broad lending expertise.
  • Update loan origination systems with accurate borrower information, notes, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with processors, underwriters, and closing staff to resolve issues, expedite files, and maintain loan pipeline progress.
  • Interpret policies, lending regulations, and product requirements to ensure compliant loan recommendations.
  • Resolve difficult borrower or file issues by applying prior experience and analytical judgment.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and support to team members or less experienced lending staff.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying workflow gaps or recommending process enhancements.


Education & Experience

Required:

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in consumer lending, loan origination, or lending sales, or equivalent experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, sales, or a related discipline, or equivalent education
  • Experience originating and managing complex consumer loan transactions
  • Be licensed for loans in California

Preferred:

  • Experience in consumer lending sales or multi-product lending environments.
  • Familiarity with loan origination systems, pricing engines, or financial analysis tools.
  • Proven ability to manage a loan pipeline and meet production goals.

  • Broad knowledge of lending products, underwriting principles, and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess complex borrower financial scenarios.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills for guiding borrowers through the loan process.

Working Conditions

Work is performed in a general office or remote-office environment with regular use of computers, loan origination systems, and communication tools. Workload may fluctuate based on borrower demand, loan cycles, and internal deadlines. Occasional onsite meetings or training sessions may be required. Minimal travel may occur for team collaboration or professional development.

  • Ability to sit for extended periods while reviewing borrower information and completing documentation.
  • Ability to lift and carry light materials such as files or office supplies.
  • Ability to operate computers, communication tools, and financial systems regularly.
  • Ability to move throughout office or meeting environments as needed.
  • Ability to maintain concentration during detailed review and analysis tasks.
Compensation
  • Base Salary: $17.75 per hour + comissions
  • FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
  • Bonus Type: None
