In this vital role, you will assist with loan origination, processing, and underwriting activities, ensuring compliance with industry regulations such as TILA (Truth in Lending Act) and Fair Housing laws. Your proactive approach will contribute to delivering exceptional service to clients while maintaining accuracy and efficiency throughout the mortgage lifecycle. Responsibilities

  • Support loan officers by preparing and organizing loan documentation, contracts, and disclosures in accordance with FNMA (Fannie Mae) guidelines and banking standards
  • Assist with loan origination processes, including gathering borrower information, verifying credit reports, and performing basic credit analysis
  • Coordinate with underwriters to facilitate smooth loan approvals by providing necessary documentation and clarifications
  • Manage loan processing tasks such as data entry using 10-key typing skills, calculating escrow amounts, and reviewing TILA disclosures for accuracy
  • Ensure compliance with Fair Housing regulations and mortgage servicing requirements during all stages of the loan process
  • Maintain detailed records of all transactions, including inbound and outbound correspondence, escrow accounts, and contract files
  • Support the loan officer team in adhering to banking policies, contracts, and regulatory standards related to mortgage lending

Experience

  • Prior experience working as a Loan Officer Assistant or in a similar financial services role is not needed
  • Knowledge of loan origination systems, credit analysis techniques, and basic math skills necessary for accurate calculations
  • Strong organizational skills complemented by proficiency in 10-key typing and math fundamentals are essential for managing multiple tasks efficiently
