POSITION OVERVIEW: This role is part of Alcon's Global Benefits COE and will report to senior manager, Employee Benefits for APAC region.

The Manager, Employee Benefits, is primarily responsible for leading, coordinating and governing employee benefits programs across the APAC region, ensuring alignment with global benefits governance, compliance with local regulations, and providing strategic advice to the business. You will conduct market benchmarking surveys, analyze benefit plans, and set equitable benefit plans aligned with market trends, potentially handling executive or international benefit plan components

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop, administer, and continuously optimise employee benefits policies and programs across the region.
  • Conduct market benchmarking study and analysis benefit plans to stay updated and competitive with current trends.
  • Support harmonization, integration and other benefit activities related to M&A’s
  • Set equitable benefit plans aligned with market trends.
  • Monitor legal and regulatory changes across APAC and ensure full compliance with all country requirements.
  • Oversee and support retirement plan implementation and changes in collaboration with local HR and benefit vendors.
  • Provide regional oversight of global benefits governance and ensure adherence to global frameworks.
  • Handle executive or international benefit plan components as needed.
  • Collaborate effectively with HR business partners, cross-functional teams, vendors, brokers, and consultants.
  • Support countries with renewals or marketing of local plans within region and contract negotiations
  • Assists with evaluation and implementation of benefits-related administration systems in region
  • Assists with country-specific benefit communication for country-specific updates or changes.
  • Perform other related duties in support of global benefits objectives and global/regional projects, as assigned
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON: Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree (Preferred : Actuarial Science or Management)
  • Master’s degree preferred(Business Administration, Statistics or Actuarial Science or Management)
Languages:
  • Strong proficiency in English
  • Knowledge / Fluency of at least one other language preferred (Chinese or Japanese)
Experience:
  • Minimum of 7 years of managing global or multi-country benefits programs, benefit administration, or consulting across APAC.
  • At least 5 years of experience with defined benefit or defined contribution pension plans in APAC including China and Japan.
  • Regional exposure in APAC countries across all benefit programs.
  • Exceptional analytical thinking skills, with proven ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • Experience supporting benefits harmonization and integration during M&A.
  • Demonstrated success working with external benefit vendors, brokers, and consultants.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and influence skills with experience collaborating with cross-functional teams (e.g., HRIS, Payroll, Benefit Operations etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations impacting benefits across APAC.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and operate under tight deadlines.
  • Proven ability to navigate complex issues and build consensus.
  • Experience working in or with global consulting firms (e.g., Mercer, Aon, WTW).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications.
