Mix Plant Manager

Main purpose of the job:

Mix Plant Manager oversees the production of ice cream mix. This position requires a strong background in dairy processing, production management, and a commitment to producing the best ice cream mix in the industry.

Role and Activity

  • Production Management:
  • Review, manage, and execute the daily production plan of ice cream mix to meet production targets and customer demand.
  • Monitor production processes, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements for increased efficiency and product quality.
  • Quality Assurance:
  • Ensure strict adherence to quality control standards throughout the production process.
  • Conduct regular inspections and quality checks to maintain consistent product quality.
  • Inventory Management:
  • Manage inventory levels of raw materials and ingredients to prevent shortages or overages.
  • Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely receipt of necessary materials.
  • Team Leadership:
  • Supervise and mentor production staff, including mix operators and technicians.
  • Foster a positive work environment, encouraging teamwork and safety awareness.
  • Compliance and Safety:
  • Ensure compliance with all industry regulations, safety guidelines, and sanitation standards.
  • Implement safety training programs and enforce safety protocols.
  • Cost Control:
  • Monitor production costs and work on cost-saving initiatives to optimize production.
  • Maintenance and Equipment:
  • Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure machinery and equipment are in optimal working condition.
  • Schedule preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.

WORK ENVIRONEMENT

In this position, the employee will regularly work with and around others; in a wet and/or humid environment; in areas of high noise level; and around mechanical, electrical, and pressurized equipment. The work is fast paced.

The position involves frequent exposure to nuts and other potential allergens.

The pay scale for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The pay range for prospective employees in this role is between $105,000 and $130,000 per year with opportunities for overtime, shift differential, cold premium pay and annual bonuses (variable depending on company performance).
