A leading Tier 1 contractor is seeking an experienced Offshore Agent to support the delivery of a major marine infrastructure project in the South West. This role will involve both offshore and occasional offsite working, leading the successful delivery of key work packages within a highly regulated and safety-critical environment.

The Role

As Offshore Agent, you will take full responsibility for managing and delivering defined packages of offshore works. You will lead a team of engineers and supply chain partners, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality project execution.

Key Responsibilities

General

  • Lead and manage offshore construction packages from planning through to delivery
  • Manage Section Engineers, Site Engineers and subcontractors
  • Ensure works are delivered in line with programme, budget, and specification
  • Act as a key interface between delivery teams, client, and stakeholders

Health, Safety & Environment

  • Promote a strong safety culture with a focus on Zero Harm
  • Review and approve RAMS and safe systems of work
  • Lead incident investigations and implement improvements
  • Carry out audits and ensure full compliance with offshore standards

Engineering & Technical

  • Oversee offshore installation activities and technical delivery
  • Review and approve subcontractor technical proposals
  • Support resolution of engineering and construction challenges
  • Provide input into design based on operational experience

Quality

  • Ensure complete and compliant handover documentation
  • Implement quality processes (ITPs, NCRs, material approvals)
  • Conduct inspections, audits, and continuous improvement reviews

Programme & Productivity

  • Produce and manage fully resourced programmes
  • Monitor KPIs and productivity targets
  • Track progress and identify risks or required interventions

Commercial

  • Manage package budgets and monitor costs
  • Support procurement and manage subcontractor performance
  • Maintain detailed site records and correspondence
  • Assist with commercial recovery and contractual matters

Requirements

Essential

  • Proven experience as an Agent / Offshore Agent within heavy civils or marine environments
  • Strong understanding of offshore construction and installation activities
  • Experience managing multiple work packages and teams
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong knowledge of HSE regulations, risk assessments, and safe systems of work
  • Experience with programme management and cost control
  • CSCS Card
  • SMSTS or SSSTS
  • STCW-95 (or equivalent)
  • Full UK Driving Licence

Desirable

  • Professional accreditation (e.g. ICE or equivalent)
