Cafe Imports, a developer and importer of fine specialty green coffee, seeks a highly motivated individual to join the Sales team. Position Summary

Manages the Sales team and supporting operations to implement the organizational sales strategy and drive revenue growth. Researches and promotes techniques, tools, and structures to support the sales process and meet defined sales metrics. Monitors customer feedback and insights and collaborates with internal stakeholders to identify and suggest new market strategies.

Conducts long-term and short-term goal setting for teams and individuals and uses data to measure and monitor sales processes, identify issues, and enhance performance. Monitors the industry, business environment, and customers to develop action plans for expanding and retaining the customer base.

Key Knowledge Areas

  • Leadership: Manage the sales team, leading by example and removing barriers to success. Forms part of the Cafe Imports leadership team.
  • Sales Strategy & Growth: Develop and execute sales plans, identify new customers through networking, trade shows, and proactive outreach. Set sales goals for the sales team.
  • Customer Management: Maintain relationships with existing roasters, manage contracts, and understand their inventory usage patterns.
  • Logistics & Inventory: Coordinate with logistics for coffee shipments and manage inventory flow to minimize cost.
  • Market Analysis: Keep abreast of pricing trends, origin availability, and industry activity.
Duties & Responsibilities · Work closely with the current sales team to build efficiencies and establish new client relationships

· Works in partnership with the Inside Sales Manager

· Work with other internal teams to ensure execution and increase effectiveness/efficiency

· Review budgets and financials to continually adjust strategies and set goals

· Work with other departments to support client and organization needs (finance, logistics, etc.)

· Manage existing Customer Accounts

· Create/execute plans to convert prospects to clients

· Maintain awareness of client positions and usage patterns and create contracts based on client needs and product availability

· Contribute to purchase planning efforts through awareness of origin availability and client needs

· Field incoming inquiries and provide accurate information about Cafe Imports’ services, based on an assessment of client needs, size, experience, and location

· Give marketing or educational presentations as needed

· Utilize company CRM and accounting systems to accurately record client and transaction details

· Develop business reviews and market-potential assessments

· Contribute content to Cafe Imports web site and social media platforms

· Represent the Cafe Imports brand professionally in the field and at industry events

Requirements

· Minimum 5 years in coffee with at least 3 years in Sales/Account-Management, Trading, or Green-Buying role

· Familiarity with specialty green coffee and its coffee culture(s)

· Proven experience in building and leading a team to achieve results

· Proven track record of generating leads and closing new business

· Strong computer skills, especially MS Office Suite and CRM systems

· Excellent communication skills—both written and spoken

· Ability and interest in domestic and international travel (valid passport)

· Ability to work well across departments and with a wide range of people and personalities

· Ability to work independently while maintaining clear communication with peers and management
