The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and capable of managing multiple cases in a fast-paced environment.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><p><br></p><ul><li>Support attorneys throughout the litigation lifecycle, from case intake through trial and resolution. </li><li>Draft, revise, and proofread legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, and correspondence. </li><li>File documents in Kansas state, federal, and appellate courts, including electronic filing in compliance with applicable rules and deadlines. </li><li>Manage case calendars and track critical deadlines, hearings, depositions, and trial dates. </li><li>Coordinate and schedule depositions, mediations, hearings, and client meetings. </li><li>Assist with all aspects of discovery, including drafting requests, reviewing responses, organizing productions, and summarizing key information. </li><li>Conduct legal and factual research using online tools and public records. </li><li>Organize and maintain case files, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and confidentiality. </li><li>Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and expert witnesses. </li><li>Prepare trial materials, including exhibit binders, witness lists, and trial notebooks. </li><li>Provide trial support, including managing exhibits and assisting attorneys in the courtroom. </li><li>Obtain, review, and summarize business, employment, and other relevant records. </li><li>Coordinate with expert witnesses, including document preparation and deadline tracking. </li><li>Assist with mediation and settlement preparation, including drafting settlement documents. </li><li>Support billing and administrative functions such as time entry and document management. </li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>5+ years of civil litigation paralegal/legal assistant experience preferred. </li><li>Strong knowledge of Kansas state and federal court procedures and e-filing systems. </li><li>Excellent organizational, multitasking, and time-management skills. </li><li>Strong written and verbal communication skills. </li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office, PDF software, and case management software. </li><li>Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.</li></ul><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong>How to Apply</strong></p><p><span>Please send your inquiry, along with your résumé, to </span>kurt@depewgillen.com<span>.</span></p>
