The position emphasizes problem-solving, with strong application of FTIR, Microscopy, Chromatography, and/or NMR techniques. This role is not remote/hybrid. This role will report to Sherwin-Williams Morikis Global Technology Center located at 6745 Miller Road, Brecksville, OH 44141. Responsibilities Analytical Problem Solving (Core Focus)
- Lead and support root cause investigations for product, manufacturing, and field issues. Apply structured problem-solving approaches to identify failure mechanisms. Integrate data from multiple techniques to deliver actionable insights Spectroscopy & Structural Characterization
- Perform and interpret analyses using spectroscopic techniques and correlate morphological features with chemical and structural data. Integrate findings into broader analytical conclusions
- Provide structure-property-performance insights Kinetic Studies & Reaction Monitoring
- Design and execute kinetic experiments (e.g., curing, degradation, reaction rates) using spectroscopy (FTIR, Raman, UV‑Vis, etc.) to monitor reactions over time and interpret kinetic data to support formulation and performance optimization Method Development & Continuous Improvement
- Develop and refine analytical methods across spectroscopy and related techniques Cross-Functional Collaboration
