Railroad Track Maintenance & Heavy Equipment Operator

This role is ideal for operators with strong equipment experience in construction, civil, or industrial environments who are interested in applying their skills in the rail industry. Prior railroad experience is preferred, but not required-we will train the right candidate.<br><br>You will play a critical role in maintaining track integrity, supporting safe rail operations, and ensuring all work meets regulatory and company standards.<br><br><strong>Key Responsibilities<br><br></strong><ul><li>Safely operate heavy equipment such as backhoes, excavators, loaders, and rail-specific machinery</li><li>Assist with track surfacing, tie replacement, rail repair, and general maintenance</li><li>Follow all FRA regulations and company safety policies </li><li>Identify track defects, equipment issues, and safety concerns</li><li>Work closely with crew members to complete projects efficiently and safely<br><br></li></ul><strong>Required Qualifications<br><br></strong><ul><li>4+ years of heavy equipment operation (construction, civil, or industrial environments)</li><li>Strong safety mindset and job-site awareness</li><li>Ability to work outdoors in a physically demanding environment<br><br></li></ul><strong>Preferred<br><br></strong><ul><li>Railroad track maintenance (MOW) experience</li><li>Experience with tampers, regulators, or rail-adapted equipment</li><li>Familiarity with FRA-regulated environments<br><br></li></ul>Road & Rail Services offers competitive pay based on experience and skill, stable full-time employment with career advancement opportunities, hands-on training in railroad operations, high-quality equipment, and a professional work environment.
