[Remote] Staff Accountant

They are seeking a Staff Accountant to maintain financial records, manage accounts receivable and payable, and support payroll and HR administrative functions. Responsibilities Maintain accurate and well-organized financial records utilizing accounting software Assign revenue and expenses to the correct categories with precision and consistency Perform regular account reconciliations and proactively identify and resolve discrepancies Prepare monthly financial summaries, reports, and supporting documentation for leadership review Support budgeting, audits, and financial reporting needs as required Manage the full accounts receivable cycle including client invoicing, payment tracking, and follow-up on outstanding balances Process vendor invoices and ensure accurate and timely payment of all accounts payable obligations Maintain organized and audit-ready records of all AR and AP activity Review employee expense reports for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to company policy Ensure all expenses are appropriately coded and escalate questionable items to leadership as needed Process approved expenses accurately and in a timely manner Serve as the primary liaison with our external payroll vendor Ensure all payroll inputs are accurate and submitted on schedule including hours, compensation changes, deductions, and adjustments Review payroll reports prior to processing and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner Maintain payroll records in compliance with applicable federal and state regulations Coordinate employee onboarding logistics including new hire documentation, system access, and benefits enrollment Manage offboarding processes including final pay coordination, systems deactivation, and required documentation Maintain accurate and confidential employee records in accordance with applicable regulations Support additional HR administrative functions as assigned Skills Minimum 5 to 7 years of hands-on bookkeeping and full-cycle accounting experience Demonstrated proficiency in accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll coordination Strong working knowledge of accounting principles, financial compliance, and regulatory standards Proficiency in QuickBooks Online or comparable accounting software Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and financial modeling Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities Strong problem-solving skills with a solutions-oriented approach Effective written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fully remote environment U.S. residency required Associates or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience CPA certification or relevant professional credentials Experience in a small business, boutique firm, or professional services environment Familiarity with healthcare, revenue cycle, or consulting industry financials Experience with HR onboarding and offboarding processes Benefits Flexible part-time schedule of approximately 20 to 25 hours per week Fully remote position with schedule flexibility for the right candidate Competitive hourly compensation commensurate with experience A collaborative, collegial team environment where your contributions are valued and your expertise is trusted Company Overview C3 specializes in revenue cycle and payor operations services.
