This individual will play a critical role in developing strategic relationships across biotechnology, academic, and healthcare organizations, advancing the future of cell and gene therapies.</p><p></p><p>This position is ideal for a business development professional or cell and gene therapy subject matter expert with established industry relationships, an existing network within the cell and gene therapy community, and a passion for helping accelerate patient access to life-changing therapies.</p><p>This role is well-suited for individuals with scientific, clinical, operational, manufacturing, or research experience in cell and gene therapy who are interested in expanding into a business development role.</p><p>As a key member of the Business Development team, you will identify, develop, and close opportunities across the CGT ecosystem, including research starting materials, leukapheresis collection services, clinical trial support, commercial patient services, and specialized laboratory solutions.</p><p></p><p><b>WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE FOR GOOD (Key Responsibilities):</b> </p><ul><li>Develop and execute strategic business development plans to achieve revenue and growth objectives within the Cell and Gene Therapy market.</li><li>Identify, qualify, and close new opportunities with biotechnology companies, academic medical centers, contract research organizations (CROs), contract development and manufacturing organizations (CDMOs), and healthcare systems.</li><li>Build and maintain relationships with key decision makers, including executives, clinical operations leaders, manufacturing leaders, translational scientists, supply chain leaders, and procurement teams.</li><li>Lead complex consultative sales engagements from initial outreach through contract execution and implementation.</li><li>Collaborate with internal subject matter experts across Operations, Quality, Medical Affairs, Laboratory Services, Clinical Apheresis, and Process Development to develop customer solutions.</li><li>Serve as a trusted advisor to customers by understanding emerging trends in cell and gene therapy.</li><li>Represent the American Red Cross at industry conferences, trade associations, and customer events.</li><li>Maintain an accurate sales pipeline, forecast opportunities, and provide market intelligence to support strategic planning.</li><li>Support expansion of existing customer relationships through cross-selling and strategic account development initiatives.</li><li>Contribute to the development of new products, services, and market opportunities based on customer and industry insights.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>PAY INFORMATION:</b></p><p><b><i><span>The salary range for this position is: $100,000‐$120,000.</span></i></b></p><p></p><p><b><i><span>Note that American Red Cross salaries are aligned to the specific geographic location in which the work is primarily performed. Other factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have, and a comparison to other employees already in this role.</span></i></b></p><p></p><p><b>WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (Minimum Qualifications):</b> </p><ul><li>Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field.</li><li>Minimum 5 years of business development, sales, scientific, clinical, operational, manufacturing, or commercial experience within the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, cell therapy, or healthcare industries.</li><li>Demonstrated success developing customer relationships, managing complex stakeholder engagements, or driving business growth initiatives within the biotechnology, healthcare, or cell and gene therapy industries.</li><li>Experience working within the cell and gene therapy ecosystem, including biotechnology, academic, clinical, manufacturing, or research environments.</li><li>Experience engaging executive-level stakeholders and influencing cross-functional decision makers.</li><li>Ability to travel up to 40%.</li></ul><p></p><p><b><span>WHAT WILL GIVE YOU THE COMPETITIVE EDGE (Preferred Qualifications):</span></b> </p><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree or higher.</li><li>Direct experience supporting cell and gene therapy companies, apheresis services, cell collection programs, biobanking, starting materials, Leukopaks, PBMCs, or cellular products.</li><li>Established network of contacts within biotechnology, academic, CRO, CDMO, or advanced therapy organizations.</li><li>Experience supporting commercial CAR-T, TCR, TIL, gene therapy, autoimmune cell therapy, or regenerative medicine programs.</li><li>Knowledge of GMP, GTP, FACT, FDA, and other regulatory requirements associated with cell and gene therapy operations.</li><li>Individuals with scientific, clinical, operational, manufacturing, or research experience in cell and gene therapy who are interested in transitioning into a business development career are encouraged to apply.</li></ul><p></p><p><b><span>BENEFITS FOR YOU:</span></b></p><p></p><p>As a mission-based organization, we believe our team needs great support to do great work.
