Some engagements involve standing up data environments from scratch, while others focus on building upon and enhancing existing infrastructure. This role is hands-on and delivery-focused, contributing to high-impact initiatives such as provisioning new Snowflake environments, developing and optimizing DBT pipelines, and strengthening data foundations for commercial-scale analytics. You may support clients launching newly independent entities, modernizing legacy platforms, or scaling analytics capabilities during periods of growth. You’ll collaborate with experienced CompassX consultants and client stakeholders on technically challenging projects that sit at the core of business decision-making. The work requires strong execution, sound architectural judgment, and the ability to move between greenfield builds and complex, evolving enterprise environments. What you'll do • Architect from Scratch: Lead the foundational setup of new data environments, including Snowflake provisioning, SSO configuration, and initial system architecture. • Build Data Pipelines: Design, build, and manage scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes to transform raw data into actionable insights. • Scale Commercial Analytics: Support the scaling of engineering teams to handle high volumes of commercial projects while maintaining business continuity during organizational transitions. • Implement DBT Models: Develop and maintain robust DBT data models to support semantic layer build-outs and advanced analytics capabilities. • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner closely with business leaders and stakeholders to bridge the gap between technical delivery and strategic objectives. • Support Custom Applications: Provide engineering support for custom backend applications, ensuring seamless data integration and reliable exposure to end users. • Drive Data Standards: Establish and enforce best practices for data engineering, architecture, and deployments that can scale across multiple organizations.
