Specialist Regional OHS Area 1
Task responsibilities The overall purpose and objective of the position is to : Manage the health and safety of all employees based in The Americas (Area 1). Initiate, control, organise and monitor all necessary actions and processes related to occupational health and safety in Area1. Ensure regulatory compliance of all stations in Area1. Implement the Occupational Health and Safety Management system (OHSMS) in Area1 Provide the necessary health and safety advice, risk assessment, guidance and recommendation throughout the organisation to enable the successful implementation of the OHSMS and limit the risks of accidents. Develop the culture of psychosocial risks. Carry out occurrence investigations, determine the root causes and make effective recommendations in order to prevent a re-occurrence. Be the primary point of contact with local authorities for all matters related to health and safety. Provide all required health and safety support, guidance and recommendation in due time to the crisis management team in order to minimize the impact for all persons involved in our activities. Realise administrative tasks in collaboration with the HR department. Essential requirements for the position Bachelors Degree At least 7-10 years’ work experience in a Health & Safety department or related field (eg. risk area) Strong knowledge of safety management principles and ISO 45001 standard Strong verbal and written communication skills in English Strong knowledge in mental health and Psychosocial Risk or ISO 45003 standard Experience in aviation is considered as an advantage Bei an inquisitive and a good listener, maintain impartiality, able to handle confidential matters Have the ability to empathize and know your audience Feel comfortable to work in a team as well as autonomously Have the ability to work with a remote team in an international environment Have a methodical and organized way of working Have project management skills Be able to collect factual data Deal effectively with complexity and having good problem-solving skills Have strong PC knowledge (MS Office and Outlook) and learning capabilities Must be able to walk up and down stairs Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 50lbs Must be able to bend/stand for prolonged periods Must be able to obtain an airport ID badge Must possess a valid Driver's License and Passport Working conditions Travel required (10 to 50%) The position is based in Houston, Texas The position demands a regular presence in the office and requires vacation and other absences to be planned so as to avoid conflicting with service needs Flexibility may be needed with working hours Health Benefits: Medical, Vision, Dental.
