Job Description

[REDACTED] is a global staffing and recruiting agency that specializes in pairing remote work with top-tier talent!

We are dedicated to connecting talented individuals with remarkable companies in need of their skills. Our goal is to create fulfilling job opportunities for professionals around the world.

Our client

E-commerce agency that works exclusively with subscription CPG brands in food, beverage, supplements, and health & wellness. They help brands convert and retain customers through Shopify optimization and Klaviyo retention marketing

The Role

Design Lead to oversee design quality across our conversion and retention teams. You'll be the creative point of contact for clients - the person they turn to for design direction and creative decisions. You'll manage a team of digital designers who work on Shopify UI/UX and email/SMS creative, ensuring the work that ships is high-quality, on-brand, and built to convert. You're still hands-on designing, but you're also responsible for mentoring designers, maintaining standards, and elevating the quality of design across everything we do.

What You'll Do

  • Serve as the creative point of contact for clients - fielding design questions, presenting creative direction, and ensuring client satisfaction with design work
  • Oversee design quality across all conversion and retention pods
  • Manage and mentor digital designers on your team
  • Ensure consistency, brand alignment, and CRO best practices across all design work
  • Design Shopify UI/UX - landing pages, PDPs, collection pages, carts, checkout experiences
  • Design email and SMS creative for retention campaigns and flows
  • Collaborate with Senior PMs, Retention Strategists, and Tech Leads to deliver client work
  • Establish and maintain design standards, templates, and processes
  • Review and provide feedback on all design work before it ships
  • Stay current on e-commerce design trends and CRO best practices

Requirements

Non-negotiables

  • Proven experience leading or managing designers
  • Strong portfolio showing both web/UI design and email design
  • Deep expertise in Figma
  • Expertise in CRO best practices - you design for conversion, not just aesthetics
  • Understanding of e-commerce UX, especially for Shopify
  • Familiarity with Shopify and Klaviyo as platforms - you understand their capabilities and constraints
  • Familiarity with low-code/no-code page builder tools like Replo, Instant, Framer, and Webflow
  • Baseline understanding of front-end development - you know how to design for developers and follow best practices that make implementation smooth
  • Comfortable being client-facing for creative conversations
  • Ability to give clear, constructive feedback that elevates others' work
  • Ability to balance hands-on design work with leadership responsibilities
  • Genuine passion for CPG brands and the subscription commerce space
  • AI-native mindset - you use tools like Claude to enhance your work, not replace your thinking

Who are you for us?

You're a leader and a maker. You can art direct a project, give feedback that makes work better, and still roll up your sleeves to design when needed. You care about elevating the people around you, not just your own work.

You're deeply curious. You're the kind of person who's always learning - not just during work hours, but because you genuinely enjoy getting better at your craft. You study what's working in e-commerce design, analyze why certain designs convert, and constantly sharpen your skills whether you're on the clock or not.

You're a true expert who also cares about the brands you're designing for. Subscription CPG excites you - you get why retention matters, you understand the nuances of how customers buy consumable products, and you want to be part of helping great brands grow.

You see AI tools as leverage to accelerate your work and expand what you're capable of, not shortcuts to avoid doing the thinking.

Benefits

  • Remote position
  • You'll manage digital designers who float between conversion and retention pods
  • You report to the CEO (future: Creative Director)
  • We use Slack for communication, Linear for project management, and Figma for design
  • Fast-paced environment working with multiple subscription CPG clients
  • USD 3500 - 5000 compensation
