Salary Range: $165,000.00 - $215,000.00 What’s the role? We are looking for a Staff Product Researcher who proactively and independently develops, executes research solutions for complex, ambiguous, and often cross-functional problem spaces in order to deliver strategic impact. Your work influences product decision-making by connecting the dots between macro forces, customer needs, and Etsy’s business goals. You’ll work closely with product managers, designers, engineers, and alongside other researchers and data scientists to deliver insights that will craft the future of human commerce on Etsy. You’re a strong communicator, work well with others, and have proven instincts about when to hold the line on methodological rigor, and when to adapt to the changing demands of a project. Most importantly, you approach your work with a genuine sense of curiosity and empathy, and you’re willing to challenge conventional wisdom to find the right answer! This is a full-time position reporting to the Senior UX Research Manager, Android and iOS Initiatives. Our team focuses on using research to guide the development of buyer and seller experiences in our dynamic marketplace of unique items. Research at Etsy is a core part of our product development culture, alongside Product Management, Engineering, Design, and Analytics. We collaborate with our partner teams through all stages of product development, from identifying initial opportunities, to refining the user experience to analyzing the impact of our efforts and highlighting improvement areas. What does the day-to-day look like? Partner with team members to guide product development and refinement, drawing on expertise in user research and UX standards Proactively and independently develop and execute research solutions for complex, ambiguous, and often cross-functional problem spaces in order to deliver strategic impact Conduct remote, on-site, and in-field (as needed) user research studies with Etsy buyers and sellers Share tangible findings and prioritized recommendations on a regular basis, to encourage marketplace health and drive Etsy’s business goals Partner with other insights teams (Market Research, Quantitative Research, Data Science, etc.) to triangulate insights and synthesize findings & recommendations Of course, this is just a sample of the kinds of work this role will require! Ambitious, meticulous, and able to balance multiple projects at a time Passionate about learning and problem solving that enables innovative approaches to finding solutions.
