Responsible for performing all aspects of the logistics/transportation operation. This includes domestic shipments by LTL, TL, small package, air and overall order management.

This is a remote position that can be based near CLT, IAD, EWR, BOS,CAK,CVG,ATL,MCO,ORD, DFW or IAH.

SUMMARY:
The Transportation Operations Center (TOC) Representative is responsible for supporting day-to-day transportation and logistics operations to ensure timely, accurate, and cost-effective movement of freight. This role coordinates domestic shipments across multiple transportation modes, including LTL, TL, small package, and air, while providing end-to-end shipment visibility, issue resolution, and operational support to internal and external stakeholders. The TOC Representative plays a critical role in execution, monitoring, and communication within a fast-paced transportation environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Coordinate and execute daily domestic shipments across multiple transportation modes (LTL, TL, small package, air).
  • Create, tender, and manage ad hoc and scheduled shipments with approved carriers.
  • Enter shipment data into the Transportation Management System (OTM) with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Track, trace, and proactively monitor all in-transit shipments through OTM or direct carrier/vendor communication.
  • Maintain and update transportation system records, ensuring shipment status, milestones, and documentation are current.
  • Serve as a point of contact for shipment-related inquiries and provide timely resolutions to issues or exceptions.
  • Confirm shipment details, pickup times, delivery appointments, and capacity with carriers.
  • Review transportation lanes and shipment characteristics to select the most appropriate and cost-effective mode of transportation.
  • Communicate daily with customers, sales teams, distribution centers, and cross-functional partners regarding shipment status, delays, and resolutions.
  • Review and validate Bills of Lading (BOL) and other shipping documentation for accuracy and compliance.
  • Support freight audit and documentation processes as required.
  • Assist other transportation department team members as needed to meet operational goals.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support business needs.

    EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 1 year of logistics, transportation, or operations experience preferred.
  • Proficient in Salesforce and Microsoft Office applications; experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS), such as OTM, preferred.

Hourly range:$19.25-$22.50 (OH), $21.20-$24.20(NC,VA,GA,FL, KY & TX), $22.10-$25.10 (IL), $23.08-$26.08 (MA & NJ). This range is provided as a reasonable estimate of the compensation for this role. Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include but are not limited to your specific skills, your work location, how many years of experience you have, and comparison to other employees already in this role.
