We are looking for a passionate and innovative software engineer to join Traffic Foundation within Walmart’s Global Technology Platform group. Traffic Foundation is empowering application teams at Walmart to reach their customers in the fastest, most efficient way possible. We build and design systems handling millions of requests per second, play a critical role in scaling Walmart systems under the extremely high-traffic situations, and provide tools to accelerate, secure, and distribute traffic to all the right places. Responsibilities

Involved in planning of system, development, and deployment as well as responsible for meeting software compliance standards
Drives technical vision and influences product roadmap and vision
Implement large-scale, complex, cross-functional projects
Leads the discovery phase of large projects to develop high level design
Supervise the work of cross-functional groups of engineers, including offshore associates
Directs root cause analysis of critical business and production issues
Supports business objectives and ensures the business needs are being met

Requirements

8+ years of professional experience in software engineering
Experience building Layer 4 and 7 orchestration/routing/load balancing systems
Managed systems with >1K servers
Built high-performance HTTP proxies and caches
Experience with cloud (Azure/Go preferred)
DevOps experience
Clear understanding of TCP/HTTP request/response protocols/lifecycle
4+ Experience in a language such as Go/C/C++/Java
Ability to interact effectively with a variety of business and technical stakeholders
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including writing technical documentation
Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 5 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
