VP of Finance

<p>Global Charter Services is seeking a VP of Finance to provide leadership and oversight of the company’s financial operations. Reporting to the CEO, this role will serve as a key finance leader and assume primary responsibility for day-to-day financial management following the transition of responsibilities from the outgoing CFO.</p> <p>The VP of Finance will oversee cash management, financial reporting and close processes, accounts receivable and accounts payable functions, compliance activities, tax coordination, and contract and pricing reviews. This position requires a hands-on leader who can operate effectively in a growing and dynamic environment.</p> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p> <p><strong>Financial Management & Reporting</strong></p> <ul> <li>Manage and monitor the company’s daily and long-term cash position, including forecasting liquidity requirements and optimizing working capital. </li> <li>Partner with the Staff Accountant to manage and execute the monthly close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. </li> <li>Review monthly financial statements and supporting schedules for completeness and accuracy. </li> <li>Develop and maintain financial reporting packages and analyses for executive leadership. </li> <li>Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, controls, and operational efficiency. </li> </ul> <p><strong>Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable Management</strong></p> <ul> <li>Oversee accounts receivable processes, including invoicing, collections, and aging review. </li> <li>Monitor and manage collection efforts to improve cash flow and minimize outstanding balances. </li> <li>Oversee accounts payable activities, ensuring timely processing of vendor payments and adherence to company policies. </li> <li>Manage payment timing and disbursements to support cash management objectives. </li> <li>Ensure strong internal controls and effective workflows across A/R and A/P functions. </li> </ul> <p><strong>Tax & External Partner Coordination</strong></p> <ul> <li>Coordinate with external tax professionals to ensure timely and accurate preparation and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns. </li> <li>Support audits, tax inquiries, and financial reporting requirements as needed. </li> <li>Manage relationships with external advisors and financial service providers. </li> </ul> <p><strong>Contract Review & Pricing Oversight</strong></p> <ul> <li>Review customer and vendor contracts for financial implications and business risk considerations. </li> <li>Evaluate pricing structures and approve pricing proposals to ensure alignment with company objectives and profitability targets. </li> <li>Partner with business teams to support pricing strategy and margin optimization. </li> </ul> <p><strong>Compliance & Risk Management</strong></p> <ul> <li>Ensure compliance with applicable state and regulatory requirements. </li> <li>Maintain and strengthen internal financial controls and reporting procedures. </li> <li>Monitor evolving regulatory requirements and implement changes where appropriate. </li> </ul> <p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field required. </li> <li>7–10+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, including leadership responsibilities. </li> <li>Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, cash management, budgeting, and working capital management. </li> <li>Experience coordinating with external tax advisors and auditors. </li> <li>Experience managing accounts receivable and accounts payable functions. </li> <li>Experience reviewing contracts and evaluating pricing structures. </li> <li>Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills. </li> <li>Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting systems. </li> </ul> <p><strong>Preferred Characteristics</strong></p> <ul> <li>Hands-on and detail-oriented with a strong operational mindset. </li> <li>Ability to balance strategic thinking with execution. </li> <li>Strong judgment and problem-solving abilities. </li> <li>Comfortable operating in a fast-paced and evolving environment. </li> </ul>
