The position is ideal for a detail-oriented, safety-focused welder who takes pride in producing precise, durable, and visually clean work.

  • Measure, cut, fit, and assemble metal parts to precise specifications, maintaining tight tolerances and consistent quality.

  • Inspect completed welds and assemblies for quality, strength, dimensional accuracy, and appearance, and make corrections as needed.

  • Maintain compliance with defense industry quality standards, safety requirements, and production documentation throughout the fabrication process.

  • Perform minor maintenance on welding and fabrication equipment and promptly report any issues or malfunctions.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, following all shop safety policies and procedures.

  • Collaborate with fabrication, quality, and production teams to meet build schedules and production targets.

  • Assist with general production tasks such as assembly, fitting, bending, grinding, and sheet metal work as needed.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in MIG welding on carbon steel, galvanized steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.

  • Hands-on fabrication experience with metal components such as fencing systems, barriers, gates, frames, and structural assemblies.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and welding symbols for accurate fabrication and welding.

  • Strong blueprint reading skills and familiarity with production environments requiring consistent output and quality.

  • Knowledge of quality inspections and documentation processes related to welded and fabricated products.

  • Commitment to safety and adherence to shop safety procedures and industry best practices.

  • Attention to detail, with the ability to produce clean, structurally sound, and visually acceptable welds.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience manufacturing products for the defense or government contracting industry.

  • Welding certifications such as AWS or equivalent credentials.

  • Experience fabricating fencing systems, gates, or structural frames from various metals.

  • Familiarity with quality inspections, documentation, and traceability requirements in a production setting.

  • Experience operating forklifts or overhead cranes to move materials and assemblies safely.

  • Exposure to press brake operations and bending of sheet metal or structural components.

  • Experience with aluminum fabrication, stainless steel fabrication, and sheet metal work.

  • Knowledge of additional welding processes such as TIG and flux core welding.

  • Experience with plasma cutting and related cutting technologies.

  • Comfort working with robotics in a welding or fabrication environment.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work effectively in a production and assembly environment.

Why Work Here?

You will contribute directly to products that support the defense sector, taking pride in work that demands precision, reliability, and high quality. The environment encourages collaboration between fabrication, quality, and production teams, giving you the opportunity to broaden your skills across multiple fabrication processes. You can build on your welding experience, pursue or apply industry certifications, and gain exposure to advanced fabrication tools and techniques. This role offers a hands-on, fast-paced setting where craftsmanship, safety, and continuous improvement are valued.

This position is based in a metal fabrication shop environment. The facility is not climate controlled, so temperatures can be cold in the winter and hot in the summer, with fans and bay doors used to promote airflow. You will regularly work around welding equipment, fabrication machinery, hand tools, grinders, and cutting equipment such as plasma cutters.
