FLEX Sr. Manager, Digital Merchandising Optimization

This is a temporary position. 

As a member of the Digital Merchandising team, the Senior Manager, Digital Merchandising Optimization will be responsible for analyzing and evolving the Digital Merchandising Prioritization data algorithm based on key factors.   This individual will be responsible for analyzing Digital Merchandising performance of existing placements, understanding changes in digital experience that could change placements, and manage the scoring approach for determining what Marriott offerings go into key Digital placements.   The Senior Manager will partner closely with a cross-functional group of stakeholders across the company, across Digital, Marketing, Loyalty, Brand and Technology teams.  

This role is global in scope and also interfaces with Marriott’s global regions (Americas, Europe, Middle East & Africa, Asia Pacific, China, Caribbean & Latin America).

 

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience

 

Required:

  • 5+ years Marketing / Digital experience; must have exposure mobile platforms, technical solutions, and the broader Marketing / Digital landscape 
  • Retail Merchandising Analytics experience is preferred 
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, influence, and collaborate effectively in a matrix-managed environment, with multiple complementary groups
  • Entrepreneurial, startup attitude in a big company setting, self-starter who takes initiative in an ambiguous environment to generate momentum & positive business outcomes
  • Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills with ability to interpret and translate data into key learnings and execution plans that drive business results
  • Excellent communicator, both written and spoken. Must be able to explain product vision, business objective, technical feasibility, define requirements, and technical implementations.
  • Customer-obsessed mindset that capitalizes on user data to make step-change experience improvements to platforms, products, and features
  • Global mindset that balances global solution orientation with awareness, appreciation, and adaptability for local market & customer dynamics
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience/certification

 

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES 

  • Provide project management leadership for a team that is highly matrixed, including several key vendors.
  • Develop and execute against a strategic plan to evolve Digital Merchandising, that is based on annual Key Performance indicators (KPIs) and business goals.
  • Collaborate with senior business stakeholders to identify business goals.   
  • Manage stakeholder requests and identify product requirements. Evaluate and prioritize requests based on alignment with product roadmap and team capacity. 
  • Facilitate strong working relationships with team members and business sponsors to deliver exceptional product solutions.
  • Benchmark competition while building deep understanding of our customer profiles/ needs, plus business strategies and needs for growth. 
  • Monitor deliverability and engagement metrics.
  • Lead procurement efforts as needed (e.g. new tools, new vendors), write statements of work and be able to effectively manage external vendors.
  • Develop communications for internal executives and stakeholders, hotels/continent teams, and customer care for product rollout and change management.
