They have a strong understanding of a wide range of technology offerings and have the communication and business skills necessary to bridge the gap between the sales, engineering, construction management and O&M groups. Project Developers translate customer needs into strategic and technical guidance to the development team and possesses a blend of technical, financial, contractual, and customer management skills. They communicate with Sr Executives within our organization and the customer’s organization to ensure a risk mitigated and customer-centric project.</p><p><br><b>Key Responsibilities: </b></p><ul><li>Technical/financial support of sales activities</li><li>Financial modeling of Energy Performance Contracts</li><li>Proposal writing and review/QC Management and coordination of proposal team</li><li>Technical/financial support of sales activities leading to new business</li><li>Conducts walk-throughs of customer facilities to determine project viability</li><li>Interviews customers to determine facility needs and assess customer expectations.</li><li>Assists in the preparation of customer presentations</li><li>Presents the business case of the proposal for oral interviews and customer meetings</li><li>Financial Modeling of Energy Performance Contracts:<ul><li>Combines energy savings values, sub-contracted costs, and purchased material costs and incorporates these data into NORESCO’s financial model</li><li>Reviews energy savings and costs for reasonableness based on past experience, metrics, and knowledge of the project</li><li>Analyzes Energy Conservation Measures (ECMs) for technical and financial viability</li><li>Identifies ECM and project cost and savings risks and develops a plan and strategy to manage and mitigate these risks<br> </li></ul></li><li>Proposal Writing and Review/QC:<ul><li>Responsible for financial sections of the proposal</li><li>Reviews ECM Write-Ups and other technical proposal sections provided by Senior Energy Engineers for risk mitigation and customer pain points</li><li>Coordinates proposal document strategy and tactics with team</li><li>Author and review sections for competitive RFP response for new site selections</li><li>Supported by a Proposal Administrator (PA) to review, edit, and assemble the Preliminary Assessment and IGA/DFS documents<br> </li></ul></li><li>Management and Coordination of Development Team:<ul><li>Acts as a primary point of contact with the customer during project development</li><li>Manages the proposal team, including Account Executive, Senior Energy Engineer(s), Lighting and Water Auditor/Designer, Construction Manager, O&M, M&V Specialist, Legal and Finance</li><li>Hosts regular conference calls to communicate strategy and tactics, review team members’ responsibilities, and progress to date against milestones.</li><li>Coordinates and leads risk review meetings prior to proposal submission, presenting the business case for the project to Senior Management.</li><li>Manages the PA and IGA/DFS budgets and timelines to produce project deliverables on time and within budget</li><li>Secures project award</li><li>Stays engaged through Implementation and Performance phases to manage contract compliance and customer satisfaction.</li></ul></li></ul><p></p><p><b>Required Qualifications:</b></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree</li><li>5+ years’ experience as a project developer, project engineer and/or in project management</li><li>Due to contractual agreements, must be a US citizen<br> </li></ul><p><b>Preferred Qualifications:</b></p><ul><li>Experience working on Federal ESPC and UESC is a plus</li><li>Experience in the development of Energy Savings Performance Contract (ESPC) projects and/or Utility Energy Service Contracts (UESC) preferred</li><li>General engineering knowledge of HVAC, lighting & lighting controls, DDC / pneumatic controls, and building envelope. Experience with Resiliency measures, including onsite generation (PV, CHP, etc.), battery storage, microgrid, a distinct plus.</li><li>Skilled with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Project, and PowerPoint</li><li>Strong technical writing skills</li><li>Sales aptitude and keen business acumen. Strong communication, project management, and team leadership skills</li></ul><p style="text-align:left !important"></p><p style="text-align:left !important"><b>Pay Range</b></p>The annual salary for this position is between $96,000.00 - $192,000.00 annually.
