Job Overview

The Senior, Omni Operations Strategies develops and executes strategies that enhance both the customer and colleague experience across Macy’s stores and digital channels. The role drives operational excellence by simplifying store processes, improving execution, and identifying opportunities to increase sales and profitability while reducing complexity for store teams.

The position partners closely with store leadership and cross-functional corporate teams, including Store Operations, Supply Chain, Customer Experience, Digital, Finance, Technology, and Corporate Communications. The Senior, Omni Operations Strategies influences enterprise strategy, ensures successful in-store execution, and collaborates with key stakeholders to improve store practices, define technology requirements, and deliver solutions that elevate customer satisfaction and business performance.

What You Will Do

  • Identify and develop strategies and best practices to evolve store operational requirements, including workload execution, store fulfillment processes, and omni order management, to deliver a seamless customer experience.
  • Partner with store leadership to identify customer and colleague pain points and implement process simplification, operational improvements, and technology enhancements that reduce friction across the shopping journey.
  • Serve as the business owner for initiatives that improve fulfillment speed, order accuracy, inventory integrity, and overall service levels, including defining and prioritizing system enhancements to support these outcomes.
  • Lead RFID-related process improvements by partnering with key stakeholders to enhance inventory accuracy and strengthen fulfillment and pickup execution.
  • Engage cross-functional stakeholders within and beyond the Stores organization to identify and implement strategic enhancements that improve customer experience, store fulfillment capabilities, and process efficiency.
  • Conduct regular store visits to observe execution, validate adherence to processes, and identify continuous improvement opportunities across workload management, RFID, and store fulfillment operations.
  • Apply strong analytical skills to translate operational data into actionable insights using tools such as Excel and Power BI.
  • Maintain regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.
  • Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships, and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities.

Skills You Will Need

Omni-Channel Operations Strategy: Demonstrated ability to develop and execute omni-channel operational strategies that enhance customer and colleague experiences across stores and digital channels while driving sales and profitability.

Process Improvement & Simplification: Proven capability to identify operational pain points and implement process simplification and execution improvements that reduce complexity and friction for store teams.

Store Fulfillment & Order Management: Strong expertise in store fulfillment, omni order management, and service execution, with a track record of improving fulfillment speed, order accuracy, and overall service levels.

Data Analysis & Business Insight: Strong analytical skills, including the ability to interpret complex operational and financial data and translate insights into action using tools such as Excel and Power BI.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with Store Operations, Supply Chain, Customer Experience, Digital, Finance, Technology, and Communications to drive aligned, enterprise-level solutions.

Operational Execution & Field Engagement: Ability to conduct regular store visits to observe execution, validate adherence to processes, and identify continuous improvement opportunities across workload management and fulfillment operations.

Stakeholder Influence & Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence outcomes, align stakeholders, and drive results through collaboration without direct authority.

Project Management & Agility: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and execution rigor.

Who You Are

  • Candidates with a bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a related field are encouraged to apply. 5-7 years of related experience preferred.
  • Regularly required to sit, talk, hear; use hands/fingers to touch, handle, and feel. Occasionally required to move about the workplace and reach with hands and arms. Requires close vision.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule based on department and company needs.
  • Able to travel ~10%.
