<h2>About the role</h2> Reporting to the Director of Games, as the Team Lead Animator, you will lead the creative and technical aspects of 2D animation production. You will work with a small, talented team, and collaborate with both in-house and outsourced teams to deliver exceptional animations that elevate our gaming experience to new heights! <h2>Responsibilities</h2> <ul><li><p>Lead the animation team within Booming Games’ Art department - lead the in-house animators, to deliver creative and technically stellar 2D animations.</p></li><li><p>Drive and own animation design and implementation</p></li><li><p>Set clear animation direction for the projects, as per game specifications and thestakeholder feedback</p></li><li><p>Participate in various production milestones and work with Project Managers toestimate the effort for your department and resources on different projects</p></li><li><p>Apply technical knowledge in use of the Spine tool to create and optimize 2d animations</p></li><li><p>Work with the outsourcer animation delivery and create the standards for animationreception from third-party studios</p></li><li><p>Apply your creativity and technical knowledge to bring Booming Games animationquality to the next level</p></li><li><p>Explore and use generative tools that can streamline the animation production process</p></li><li><p>Any other tasks may be required by the Company from time to time, which fall under the Team Lead’s area of expertise.</p></li></ul> <h2>Requirements</h2> <ul><li><p>3–5 years of experience as a game animator, ideally within the gaming or iGaming sector.</p></li><li><p>Proficiency in English to communicate and collaborate effectively with team members.</p></li><li><p>Strong knowledge of Spine, After Effects, and Photoshop.</p></li><li><p>Proven experience in high-quality character animation and pseudo-3D object animation.</p></li><li><p>Solid skills in creating VFX while working within optimisation constraints.</p></li><li><p>A strong portfolio that showcases your animation skills, creativity, and versatility.</p></li><li><p>A genuine passion for gaming and a deep understanding of the player experience.</p></li><li><p>Ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.</p></li><li><p>Comfortable giving and receiving constructive feedback in a team setting.</p></li><li><p>Strong problem-solving skills to tackle both technical and artistic challenges.</p></li></ul> <h2>Nice to have</h2> <ul><li><p>Previous experience in the iGaming industry is a strong advantage</p></li><li><p>Strong drawing skills</p></li><li><p>Knowledge and experience in animation using any 3D tool</p></li><li><p>Experience with auxiliary tools for creating visual effects (VFX)</p></li><li><p>Experience creating art and animation using AI-based tools</p></li></ul> <h2>Good to know</h2> <ul><li>In order to be considered, please submit your CV in English</li><li>We kindly ask for your understanding that we can only consider applicants within the Central European Timezone +/- 2</li><li>This full-time position can be permanent employment in Malta or on a freelance basis for contractors in the other countries</li><li>Please make sure to <strong>submit your portfolio</strong> with your application in order to be considered</li></ul> <h2>Why Work for Booming Games</h2> Founder led.
