Job Summary

We are looking for detail-oriented and skilled Payroll Accountants to join our team at The Elite Job in Kenya. As a Payroll Accountant, you will manage the processing and management of payroll for our clients, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness. Key Responsibilities

  • Process payroll for clients in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Review and maintain payroll records, including timekeeping, deductions, and bonuses.
  • Coordinate with HR to ensure that employee data is accurate and up to date for payroll processing.
  • Prepare and submit payroll tax filings and payments.
  • Respond to payroll inquiries from employees and resolve discrepancies.
  • Maintain knowledge of payroll regulations, tax laws, and labor laws to ensure compliance.
  • Generate reports, including payroll summaries and employee earnings reports.
  • Assist in the preparation of year-end tax forms and filings.
  • Collaborate with management and finance teams to ensure seamless payroll operations.
  • Continuously review and improve payroll processes for efficiency and compliance.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in payroll accounting or a similar role.
  • Knowledge of payroll software and systems.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and tax regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Knowledge of labor laws and employment regulations in Kenya.

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll processing or accounting roles.
  • Experience in managing payroll for multiple clients or a large workforce is preferred.
  • Familiarity with payroll systems like Sage, QuickBooks, or any other relevant payroll software is an advantage.

Working Hours

  • Full-time position.
  • Standard working hours: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday. Some flexibility may be required to meet payroll deadlines.
