Associate - Custodial

Position Summary The ideal candidate for this position is safety conscious, detail-oriented, flexible and willing to take on non-routine cleaning and special projects as the need arises. The Janitor will be responsible for cleaning and sanitizing offices, meeting rooms, bathrooms, kitchen and dining room and public areas.

Essential Duties and Tasks

  • Perform general clean-up of all areas of the building as per Food Safety procedures.
  • Manage routine upkeep of exterior areas, green space and parking lot
  • Complete non-routine cleaning according to specified job orders
  • Remove garbage and recycle daily and prepare bins for weekly pick-up
  • Handle emergency cleaning and upkeep requests
  • Ensure rooms are maintained and fully equipped
  • Capable to take on small maintenance tasks including wall repair, painting, hanging paper towel, toilet paper and soap dispensers
Qualifications, Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) Required.
  • 2+ years janitorial experience. Knowledge of Safe Quality Food sanitation a plus.
  • High school diploma/GED required.
  • Willingness to work late night shifts and weekends.
  • Ability to work well under minimal supervision. Self-starter that looks for areas that need to be addressed/ cleaned or repaired and takes care of tasks without the need to be directed. Advised supervisor of issues that need a higher level of maintenance than their skill set can handle.
  • Capacity to take direction and ask for clarification when needed.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Physically capable of lifting and moving objects up to 40 pounds as necessary
  • Capable to run and maintain cleaning equipment including vacuum cleaner, walk behind floor scrubber, drive around floor scrubber
Hours: Part-time
  • Weekday Nights: Mon-Thurs | 5pm - pm OR
  • Weekend Days: Fri - Sun | 8am - 12pm
Wage: $19-20/hr. (based on experience)
