CNC Draftsman

We are looking for an experienced CNC Draftsman with a strong background in cabinet design and CNC programming. The ideal candidate will be proficient in translating designs into CNC machine-ready formats (G-code) and creating technical drawings for our CNC operations. You will collaborate closely with the design and production teams to ensure that all designs are optimized for production and meet high-quality standards.

Responsibilities

Create 2D and 3D technical drawings for custom cabinets, furniture, and components, using CAD software (Cabinet Vision, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar).
  • Design cabinet layouts and furniture pieces based on client specifications and industry standards.
  • Generate CNC machine instructions (G-code) and prepare cutting files for CNC routers, CNC edge banding machines, and CNC saws.
  • Collaborate with designers, project managers, and production teams to ensure that designs are manufacturable and meet client requirements.
  • Review and revise drawings based on feedback from production teams or clients, making necessary adjustments for optimization.
  • Ensure that designs align with CNC machine capabilities and manufacturing requirements, minimizing material wastage and production time.
  • Prepare cut lists, material specifications, and other production-related documentation.
  • Work closely with CNC operators to ensure that G-code and designs are accurately implemented in the production process.
  • Troubleshoot any design or programming-related issues during production.
  • Maintain accurate records of all drawings, revisions, and technical documentation for future reference.

Requirements

  • Experience with Cabinet Vision in CNC operations required.
  • Proven experience as a CNC Draftsman, Cabinet Designer, or CAD Drafter with a focus on CNC operations.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Fusion 360, etc.) and the ability to create CNC-compatible drawings.
  • Experience with CNC programming and generating G-code for CNC routers, CNC saws, edge banding machines, or other woodworking machinery.
  • Solid understanding of cabinetry design principles and CNC machining processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to produce highly accurate designs and technical drawings.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with production teams to address design and programming challenges.
