JOB TITLE : SANDWICH ARTIST

REPORTS TO : SR. SANDWICH ARTIST / ASSISTANT MANAGER / RESTAURANT

MANAGER / MULTI UNIT MANAGER / OWNER

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION:

Greets and serves guests in a warm and friendly manner, prepare and handle food products in a safe and responsible manner, suggestively sell food and beverage products, maintains food safety and sanitation standards, complete light paperwork.

Exceptional customer service is a major component of this position.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  1. Serves and creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere for the guests and team members.
  2. Greets guests and prepares their orders neatly, accurately and in a timely manner. Uses Point of Sale system/cash register to record the order and computes the amount of the bill, collects payment from guests and makes change.
  3. Informs guests about Subway Listens and gives a warm farewell with an invitation to come back.
  4. Demonstrates a complete understanding of menu items and explains it to guests accurately. Suggestively sell to increase sales and introduces new LTO products to guests. Exhibits a cheerful and helpful manner when dealing with guests.
  5. Checks temperature and freshness of food products in the sandwich unit area. Restock items to ensure a sufficient supply throughout the shift.
  6. Understands and adheres to proper food handling and safety and sanitization standards while preparing food, while serving food and while cleaning up work area.
  7. Understands and adheres to all quality standards, formulas and procedures as outlined in the SUBWAY
Operations Manual.
  1. Performs cleaning duties and housekeeping duties as directed.
  2. Be fully responsible for the loss of money, bread, food and beverage products damaged property during your shift due to mishandling and / or negligence.
  3. Be fully responsible of the safety and privacy of your assigned Employee ID. Sharing of Employee ID is prohibited.
  4. Performs cash drops as and when prompted by the POS system when assigned the Cashier duty and maintains a balance till throughout the shift.
  5. Keeps immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance and takes prompt corrective action where necessary.

  2. Completes online coursework on the University of SUBWAY as directed.

Skill qualification standards: ❑ Able to hear, read, understand and implement written and verbal instructions

❑ Neatly dressed, well-groomed

❑ Clean uniform always worn to standards

❑ Stands/walks during entire shift (6-8 hrs)

❑ Reaches, bends, stoops and wipes

❑ Able to lift - up to 5kg frequently and up to 15kg occasionally

❑ Able to hear guest’s orders and needs amid loud background noise

❑ Able to verbalize menu items clearly to guests while taking their orders or responding to their requests

❑ Able to use Point of Sale system to place orders

❑ Able to accurately make cash, QR or credit card transactions and balance the till at the end of shift

❑ Able to communicate on Subway Listens platform and invite guests to give service feedback

❑ Able to perform bread and carrier inventory at every shift

❑ Able to complete product preparation in a safe and timely manner

❑ Able to take food temperature accurately, perform corrective actions and keep records

❑ Able to work any area of the restaurant when needed

❑ Able to pass Sandwich Artist Evaluation

❑ Completes assigned courses / curriculum on University of Subway: o Sandwich Artistry 2 o Handling Cash Course o Create Great Together

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Pay: RM1,700.00 - RM1,850.00 per month
