[Remote] Director/Fractional CFO - Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) - Outsourced Accounting & Finance

EisnerAmper is one of the largest accounting, tax, and business advisory firms, and they are seeking a Director/Fractional CFO for their Outsourced CFO & Accounting Services group. The role involves providing financial leadership and strategic counsel to high-growth Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) and Technology clients, while also leading and mentoring the internal Finance team. Responsibilities Analyzing complex financial information to provide accurate, timely, and strategic recommendations to clients’ management teams for decision-making Supporting the fundraising strategies and efforts of CEOs/founders across both debt and equity, including VC and PE rounds Advising on the financial diligence, reporting, and KPI expectations required by institutional investors and PE/VC sponsors Preparing for and attending Board of Directors’ meetings, including investor pitch decks and board presentations Ensuring financial models and reporting reflect GAAP (e.g., revenue recognition) Analyzing trends in financial metrics and KPIs specific to CPG (margins, trade spend, inventory turns) and technology (ARR/MRR, CAC, LTV, burn, runway) clients Continually monitoring metrics and highlighting trends and unexpected variances Supporting employee option plans and cap table management Evaluating clients’ current processes to drive efficiencies and improve performance Performing ad-hoc reporting and analysis and proactively delivering strategic insights Overseeing all aspects of client engagements to ensure satisfaction and the timely delivery of accurate, insightful financial deliverables Acting as the primary point of contact for clients and expanding services to existing relationships Leading, coaching, and mentoring the internal Finance team (FP&A team as well as other CFOs), supporting both their technical development and career growth Establishing best practices and industry standards for CPG and technology engagements across the team Managing and allocating EA Group Finance resources across client engagements to ensure quality and timeliness Driving automation and efficiency by exploring and implementing modern accounting and FP&A software, including AI-enabled tools Participating in business development - networking, BD calls, and seamless introductions to extended firm services (tax, Outsourced HR, etc.) Skills Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related business field 20+ years of accounting or finance experience CFO-level experience with small, scaling, and/or start-up companies in CPG and/or technology Expertise across CPG revenue models (e-commerce, wholesale, retail) including inventory and trade spend; manufacturing experience Prior client service experience in consulting or a similar setting Prior supervisory experience Advanced degree (e.g. Masters) in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related business field CPA license or a candidate for CPA, preferred Direct experience working with VC- and/or PE-backed companies (fundraising, investor reporting, board-level engagement) Proven experience leading and developing a finance/accounting team And/or technology/SaaS metrics and unit economics Ability to draft customized financial policies and procedures for clients Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and manage at all levels, including remote teams Executive presence articulate, with excellent verbal and written communication Creative, effective problem-solving skills Highly detail-oriented, able to juggle multiple client requests simultaneously Highly driven, self-motivated, and deadline-oriented A hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves mentor and coach to both internal and client teams Comfortable with a wide variety of financial software packages and an interest in AI-enabled FP&A tooling Experience using AI platforms and tools, including Claude, Copilot, and ChatGPT Benefits You will get to be part of one of the largest and fastest growing accounting and advisory firms in the industry You will have the flexibility to manage your days in support of our commitment to work/life balance.
